The white house at 5204 Delafield Avenue in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, where Lou Gehrig was living at the time of the 1940 census still stands today. Just a little over a year later, Lou Gehrig lost his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), dying on 2 June 1941.1
