- 1). Make a loop with one end of the wire and bring it underneath itself. Place your index finger and thumb on the wire and bring the end you just used to form a loop up and over itself.
- 2). While holding the wire directly in front of you, situate both ends of the wire so that each is heading outward at a 45-degree angle.
- 3). Use your index finger and thumb to twist the wire ends together five times so a corkscrew pattern forms.
- 4). After making your fifth twist, take the shorter end of the wire and turn it outward to the left. Keep the other end of the wire straight down.
- 5). Make at least three barrel twists with the short end of the wire by wrapping it around the other end of the wire in tight circles, and allow the shorter end of the wire to hang out from the other end at a 90-degree angle.
- 6). Use the leftover wire to make a crank by bending the shorter wire down at the free end so it forms what looks like an "L" when viewed from the side, or a hangman's noose, when viewed straight on. Twist the crank in small circles quickly until it snaps off from the knotted wire. Your wire knot is now ready to use.
