- 1). Plug your lightbox in, place it on a flat surface and turn on its timer by rotating the appropriate switch clockwise.
- 2). Place your small spotlight a couple of feet away from the lightbox. Turn it on and point it at the lightbox.
- 3). Fold your towel so that it is big enough to fit in the bottom of your lightbox. Place the folded towel in the bottom of the lightbox.
- 4). Set the item you are photographing on top of the towel inside the lightbox.
- 5). Place your camera on a tripod about a foot away from the lightbox and point it toward the open end of the lightbox. Turn off the camera's flash.
- 6). Look through the viewfinder of your camera to ensure the item is oriented properly. Move the tripod backward or forward to get the right orientation; try not to use your camera's zoom function.
- 7). Take multiple photos of the object inside the lightbox from different angles until you are satisfied with the photos you have taken. You might also try moving the angle of the spotlight so that it hits the nylon at a different point.
