The Bottom Line
Deep South/Fig Rig Rods is a BASS Federation Nation sponsor. I won a 6 foot 6 inch Carbon Classic bait casting rod in a drawing at the 2007 Georgia Top Six. It is a medium heavy rod and is a good rod for fishing worms and jigs. It is very sensitive and handles a wide range of weighs.

Guide Review - Deep South - Fig Rig Fishing Rod
I am using my medium heavy Fig Rig Carbon Classic 6-6 rod for fishing a Texas rig worm and jig and pig. It is teamed with am Abu Garcia Revo reel spooled with 15 pound PLine fluorocarbon line. The outfit is very sensitive. I was impressed with the feel while fishing Texas rigs around rocks and brush.
The rod has a very fast action, meaning it has a light, flexible tip but lots of backbone. The light tip allows easy casting and helps when working a bait but the strong backbone helps setting the hook when using either a jig or a Texas rig.
The rod is a little heavier than more expensive rods but that probably means it will hold up better. After a long day of tournament fishing the weight still does not bother me.
I like the 6-6 length. It is easier to cast under hand and work in close areas like under bridges.
Fig Rig Rods changed its name to Deep South Rods.
