Corner Bathtubs - How to Choose the Right One

Deciding on which of the many bathtubs is right for you can be quite a challenge.
Here are a few hints to help you choose! Not all corner bathtubs are the same.
It might seem easy to think otherwise but the truth is that there are quite a few different types out there.
Some are made from enamel, some are made from marble.
Some are deep bathtubs; others are raised up and are meant for people who have problems standing for long periods of time.
With so many different bathtubs out there to choose from, how do you know which type of tub is right for you and your family? Here are some tips to help make sure that you choose the right tub for your family and your home:
  1. Do you have family members with special needs? Some people with special needs (the elderly, for example) have a hard time standing up for long periods of time, so finding a corner tub with built in seating is a good idea.
Other people have a hard time climbing into or out of the tub, so installing a raised corner bath with a door instead of one that is installed in your floor or that has a tall side might be a good idea.
You should also consider installing a tub that can accommodate (or already has) hand rails to help people steady themselves.
  2. Do you have young children who live at home? Are people in your family prone to accidents? If you live in a house with little kids or with people who have a lack of coordination, you will probably want to install a corner tub that has rounded corners and soft edges.
They are made out of harder materials like marble are certainly beautiful, but they are not a good ideas for homes in which lots of little accidents occur.
If you are accident prone, you will want to look at corner bathtubs that pose the least risk of injury should you trip and fall, bang your shins or any number of other every day injuries.
  3. Along these lines, if you live in a home with young children, you will want to stay away from corner bathtubs that are installed into the floor of your home.
You will want to find a tub with a raised edge.
This will prevent young children from accidentally falling into the bathtub and injuring themselves.
Standing corner tubs can be just as elegant as "in floor" bathtubs.
Many corner bath manufacturers create claw footed bathtubs as well as "regular looking" corner tubs.
Which type of corner bathtub you choose for your home will depend just as much on who is living in your home as the type of space in which the corner bathtub is going to be installed.
You want to choose corner bathtubs that work well with the people who live in your home.
The good news is that they come in every shape, size, color and style that you can imagine.
Tracking down the perfect bathtub might take some time but it is certainly possible!
