Some of us might be throwing excess carpets away thinking that it wouldn't be useful enough to keep. But the ideas I presented below might change some people's perception regarding spare carpets.
Traction
Keeping one in your car could come in handy, especially during snow. We have all experienced being stuck in the snow right!? A spare carpet could make a good traction to get your car out of the snow, putting your spare carpet underneath the driving wheels creates enough grip and friction making it possible to get out of that sticky situation.
Table Cover
A spare carpet could also be used as a cover on top of a table especially if it is an office table, by doing so, you could make a boring table into a thing of beauty. A typewriter atop on a carpeted table minimizes the noise it creates.
Pet House
If you do have a cat or a pet dog perhaps, you could use some in their pet house, to make them more even comfortable as they sleep and protect them from cold weather.
Car Trunk Base
You could also put excess carpet in the trunk of your car to protect the lining and to act as a cushion for your things that are fragile, such as wines, glass or vases.
Pathway or Walkway
A walkway or pathway between the house and garage is also one thing you could do to your excess carpet, by making a pathway or walkway the oil or grease in your feet that comes from the garage would not go inside the house and instead will be stuck into the walkway.
Ladder steps cover
Putting it in a ladder would reduce or even prevent slippage. Staple excess carpet into the ladder steps using staple gun to avert slipping when you are using the ladder.
Exercise Matting
Why buy one when you have spare carpet to use. Carpet makes good exercise matting due to their comfort and fluffiness. Just make sure you hang dry the carpet under the heat of the sun after using to avoid mold build up due to the sweat that comes from your body that is transferred into the carpet.
A Rug
Putting a spare carpet before the bathroom door would reduce slipping due to excess water dripping out from our body after taking a bath.
There are lots of things that you could do with a spare carpet, all you have to do is be creative and always have the determination to finish whatever project that you have started.
