Tips For Baby Bottle Tooth Decay

Baby bottle tooth decay or early childhood caries is a syndrome which is characterized by severe tooth decay and it is generally famous among the children especially those who are infants or very young children.
It is a common bacterial function.
Its prevalence is epidemic and USA has witnessed the most of number of children who are suffering from this kind of disease.
According to a scientific study it has been discovered that baby bottle tooth decay is a transmissible disease and it is also infectious with the primary microbiological agent, streptococcus mutants in the disease.
Normally the mother caries this disease and at the end transmits this bacteria to her child.
So those mothers who have dental problems and left untreated then their child will be prone to all these diseases.
It is quite necessary for the mother to be free from any kind of dental problem so that her child doesn't have to face any kind of problem in future.
According to the American Society of Pediatric Dentistry the disease is generally caused by frequent consumption of liquid that contains fermentable carbohydrates as it increases the risk of dental caries due to prolonged contact between the cariogenic bacteria in your teeth and the sugar which is in the liquid.
If you feed your ward poorly then you must be ready to face some critical consequences as they can cause distinctive pattern of carries in susceptible infants.
Early childhood caries can cause by feeding frequent bottles at night and extended and repetitive use of no-spill training cups.
This tooth decay occurs when sweetened liquids are given to the infants and they are left clinging on their teeth for long periods.
Sweet liquids like milk, fruit juice etc is responsible for this kind of disease.
Tooth decay can be preventable completely.
Firstly, you have to lower the risk of infection of the baby with decay-causing bacteria and it can be done in 2 ways; i)by improving the oral help of the mother ii) by not sharing the saliva with the infant through spoons or which are common use of feeding.
Secondly, try to clean your baby's mouth after each feeding.
Thirdly, try to brush your child's teeth until he/she is at least 6 years old.
Fourthly, avoid filling the bottle with liquids such as sugar water or juice.
So these are some of the key measures that you should take in order to prevent tooth decay.
