- 1). Dig a hole equal in depth to one-third the length of the lamp post using the post-hole digger. If your lamppost measures 10 feet tall, the minimum depth necessary to secure it solidly in the earth should measure 3 feet 4 inches.
- 2). Set the lamppost within the hole.
- 3). Pour the quick-set concrete around the hole.
- 4). Hold the level vertically against the lamppost until the bubble indicates a perfectly straight, vertical lamppost.
- 5). Soak the concrete with water from the water hose.
- 6). Pack and position the lamppost as necessary to keep it straight as indicated by the level but also so the wiring extends rearward from the post in the direction of your power source.
- 7). Allow the lamppost concrete to cure for 15 minutes.
