Altenberg Rare Silver Chanukah Lamp

On four clawed feet, this exceptional lamp is the first known model that was later copied by Polish silversmiths in the latter 19th century.

This lot was part of J. Greenstein & Co.'s Auction House record-breaking auction devoted entirely to antique and artisan Judaica. Held at New York's Radisson Martinique Hotel, the auction featured 184 ceremonial objects including menorahs, Kiddush cups, silver torah ornaments, spice boxes, paintings and much more.
