- 1). Disconnect the Nintendo DS from the AC adapter, and remove any games. Ensure that the system is turned off.
- 2). Unscrew the small Phillips head screw on the back of the system, using the size #00 screwdriver. Remove the battery cover.
- 3). Pull up on one side of the original battery, then remove it from the DS.
- 4). Place the new battery into the DS. Insert the side with two tabs first.
- 5). Close the battery cover. Replace and tighten the screw.
- 6). Connect the DS to the AC adapter to charge the battery fully before using it.
