I have been studying a lot about vacuum cleaners lately, including the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz. I'm in the market looking for a new vacuum, and I am contemplating purchasing a higher-end bagless vacuum. But I have forever had a vacuum with dust-catching bags. Do I go with the Dyson dc25 Animal or the Eureka Vacuum 4870mz?
Both models are perfect for me: on/off brushes, a standard HEPA filter, incredible suction capabilities . The differences are: The Dyson dc25 Animal is bagless and the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz needs a bag. And let us take a close look at the cost...
Are bagless vacuums really money saving... enough to justify cost? If you absolutely do not enjoy buying vacuum cleaner bags, then the answer quickly becomes yes indeed. changing a bag does not bother me . So this is the price difference that I've found. You can get a 1 year supply kit for the Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz for around $24.00. And that includes 18 Eureka style RR bags, 1 Eureka HEPA filter, a new belt, & two filters for your motor.
The manufacturer recommends swapping out the bag once per 1 to 2 mo's, the HEPA filter & motor filter every six mo's, & changing out the motor belt once every 12 months. Even if you add on another HEPA filter to the 1 year supply, that's about $31 per year to maintain optimum performance of your Eureka Smart Vacuum 4870mz. The vacuum itself costs around $130, Which means that you could probably buy seven years of the "1 yr. supply kits" and still come in under the price for the Dyson dc25.
The Dyson dc25 sale has a very nice five yr. warranty on parts/labor, but if your filter starts to smell like mold or mildew or needs replacing for one reason or another, the warranty doesn't cover the replacement. For a vacuum that performs well, has a decent HEPA filter, & has the versatility for doing a good job on all floors , the Eureka Smart Vac 4870mz fits intomy pocketbook.
