Core Needle Biopsy Specificity in Suspicious Thyroid Nodules
The malignancy-specific sensitivity of CNB was superior when compared with FNA, particularly for non-follicular tumour types. CNB may be beneficial for the diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma and other non-follicular thyroid lesions. FNA remains the gold standard, but in selected cases, CNB may be considered as an additional diagnostic procedure.
