  The village of Spychowo, located in the deep forests of northern central Poland in a lake-filled region known as Masuria, has a population of just over a thousand people. Despite its modest size, the town appeals to nature-loving tourists and offers up multiple lodging options, from standard hotels to more rustic accommodations.
  
  

Kipnick Guest House

• The Kipnick Guest House is the closest thing to a standard hotel in the rural village of Spychowo. The building's modern architecture includes an atrium ceiling with sun-windows throughout, and all 10 guest rooms contain full-sized beds, private bathrooms and wardrobe closets. Some of the more luxurious amenities offered at the Kipnick include access to the multiple fireplace lounges and the on-site sauna and jacuzzi. In a report commissioned by the Polish Trading Partners, the Kipnick Guest House was listed as one of the top 100 hotels in Poland.

Racibór Guest House

• The greeting on the website for the outdoorsy Racibór Guest House is "We'll give old forest a new name." The inn serves mainly as a stopping point for those who wish to rest their heads after a day of exploring the wilderness and partaking in such activities as horseback riding, kayaking and fishing. According to the hotel, the food served there is "based on mushrooms, fish, berries and game prepared according to old Masurian recipes." All rooms at the Racibór provide the standard amenities, such as full-sized beds and private bathrooms, and a few larger ones have their own kitchenettes. Stanica Wodna Spychowo

• Like the Racibór, the Stanica Wodna Spychowo is a lodging centered around all of the outdoor activities in the surrounding area. The words "stanica wodna" translate loosely into "water village," and represent the focus on kayaking and canoeing that the hotel offers for both children and adults. The minimal rooms at the Stanica Wodna offer beds with dressers and mirrors as well as private bathrooms. Breakfast is included in most of the room rates, and is provided--along with dinner and lunch--in the large camp-style cafeteria, filled with picnic tables. The Stanica Wodna accommodates both school trips and weddings, with special deals for both.
