Determine a location to permanently place fog machine that is within 15 feet of the American DJ Quick Scan fixtures. Choose a location within 3 feet of a power receptical, and keep the machines easily accessible because they have to be refilled manually. Examples of acceptable locations for the fog machine include the ceiling truss, upper floor overhangs and low-lying rooftops such as bathrooms or bars. - 2
DMX controlled fog machines don't require a wired remote.plug image by martini from Fotolia.com
Run remote cable to controller location and conceal the cable from sight. Examples of controller locations include DJ Booths, Sound Booths, Bar and Stage. This step does not apply to DMX-controlled fog machines that do not use the wired remote. This type machines will need to be linked into current DMX system and addressed accordingly. - 3). Fill the fluid tank on the fog machine. Tighten the lid on the fluid tank and wipe clean any spillage from the machine. Spilled fluid left on the machine results in a strong burning odor and will damage the exterior of the unit.
- 4). Plug in the fog machine and switch the power on. Most fog machines will take approximately 10 minutes to heat up initially.
- 5). Wait for "Ready" light to illuminate. The machines remote will have three settings: control, duration andi interval. Manually adjust the duration to approximately 25 percent, set the interval to the longest time possible and switch the controller to "auto" or "timer."
