- 1). Turn off the Xbox. Insert the Memory Unit into either "Memory" slot on the front of the Xbox.
- 2). Turn the Xbox on. Select the "My Xbox" tab from the main menu. Select "System Settings."
- 3). Select "Memory." Highlight "MU" (short for Memory Unit) and press the "Y" button on the controller.
- 4). Select "Format." When asked to confirm, select "Yes." You may be asked to enter the serial number. The serial number is located on the back of Xbox below the ethernet and USB ports.
