With so many models and brands available these days, it is quite difficult to choose the right pram stroller for your baby. Guess we can apply that to just about any product we buy these days can't we?
Here's how I would choose the best pram stroller model for me but you may be different and that's perfectly all right too. Feel free to let me know if I am wrong or let me know of any other considerations you may have had but which I didn't cover.
Our buying decisions are based on our personal experiences, personalities and to an extent our buying power.
For those of you who really have no idea how to buy a stroller for your baby, here are 6 points to help you.
1) Plan ahead. Give yourself plenty of time to look for one. If you can take a couple of weeks or even months then do that. The less pressure you are to buy straight away, the more clear you would become about what you need, and the more likely you are to stick to your budget.
2) Write down what you are looking for. Example:- support 10kg, easy to steer, very compact to fit in the car or for storage at home, color, number of options, canopy, warranty and so forth.
3) Work out your budget and how much you are willing to spend. Be realistic about your budget and what you can buy with it. Don't plan to buy a thousand dollar pram when you are only spending $500. Of course it can be entirely possible in a sale but be realistic.
4) Do your research into the best brands and models. Stick to well known international brands like Graco, MacLaren, Peg Perego and so forth. Talk to friends, talk to other parents to see if they have any experience about buying baby strollers.
5) Look up sales in your local areas, check out the classifieds in your local newspapers and of course ebay, amazon and other sites like them. There are always discounts and bargains out there if you can take the time to look for them.
6) Never ever buy at retail price. Even if the price is discounted, ask for more discounts. It's not gonna hurt you to ask and who knows, the shop assistant might be in a great mood that day and knock off $20 or more!
