You probably came to this article expecting to see a short little bit about how the best leveling spec as a druid is this or that.
Unfortunately, with the proper knowledge and tips, there is NO best leveling spec.
There is only what you prefer - after level 15 anyway.
Before level 15 you won't have access to the dungeon finder and you'll want to stick to feral or balance, but it won't matter then since you can do either perfectly well without spending talent points in either of those trees.
Once you hit 15 you can just as easily continue to level as restoration through dungeons.
Unfortunately for those restoration druids though, the fastest way to level is, and will always be, through questing.
Even more unfortunately is that it is quite hard to quest as a restoration druid unless you have someone that you are constantly grouping with.
With boa (bind on account) chest and shoulders you can level through dungeons pretty well though since they both grant 10% extra experience from killing monsters and completely quests.
Of course if you read the last part of that sentence you'll realize that you can really level fast using boa items with questing - and that's going to be the fastest way to 80.
Anyway, you came here for an answer to the nagging question of which spec is the best for leveling as a druid.
I can say that I've personally leveled druids as all three specs and have found feral to be the most fun and have the least amount of down-time (time that you aren't killing or questing because you are regenerating mana/health).
I also know quite a few people who loved leveling as balance though and wouldn't trade it.
As I mentioned earlier, the fastest way to level will always be to quest.
Not only that, but you'll make quite a bit of coin as you go so you'll never have to worry about having enough money to train your new skills.
You can always throw a dungeon or two in if you start to get bored though and it will normally make the process much more enjoyable.
