Unique Craft Project For Nature Lovers - Floral Cards

If you are a nature lover who spends lots of time walking in the country, this unique craft project is for you.
You can create your own personalized Floral cards which will stand out from the boring commercial store cards.
Materials Needed:
  • Small collection of pressed flowers, leaves and grasses
  • White and colored cardboard suited for cards
  • Colored paper
  • Transparent glue
  • Transparent wrap paper or colorless varnish to cover cards
  • Golden foil paper (optional)
  • Sheet of adhesive letters for the greetings (optional)
  • Sheets of blotting paper or very smooth tissues (if making your own pressed plants)
Beforehand thorough the year:
  1. Start your own collection of pressed flowers, leaves and grasses by gathering the material on a dry day and after any early morning moisture has dried off.
  2. Put sprays of small material such as delicate grasses, ferns and flowers between sheets of blotting paper as straight as possible.
  3. Insert them between the pages of large heavy books.
  4. Pull off each individual floret from the larger sprays, spread them between newspapers and lay them under the carpet.
  5. Leave the material undisturbed at least 4 to 6 weeks.
Making the cards
  1. Choose the paper for your card: white artist's board or any semi-stiff colored cardboard.
(You can also use cereal box cardboard or the shape-holding cardboard from pantyhose packages - covered with bright colored paper.
    )
  2. Arrange your flowers on cards to a desired design.
  3. Use transparent glue to stick the materials in place.
    (the less the better)
  4. Let dry.
  5. Add a golden strip of foil paper on one side of the card.
    (optional)
  6. Stuck the adequate adhesive lettering (letters) on your card forming the appropriate message.
    (optional)
  7. Let dry.
  8. Cover the plants with transparent cling wrap paper or coat with colorless varnish.
This craft project is also very good for making together with your kids, as they can participate not only by making the cards but also with gathering the necessary material.
