- I had bookmarked a column you wrote about how to set up a jon boat for gigging several months ago, and I had been looking for a used jon boat, which I now have. Now I'm rigging it with plywood and the ceramic light fixtures you described in the article. My questions are: 1) do you attach the plywood to the bow gunnels, or is the plywood unattached and staying in place by its own weight to be quickly removed when not gigging. 2) If it is attached, how do you attach it? 3) where do you store your batteries while gigging?
