Gas Fireplace Flue Inspection Hatches

Having a fireplace in your home is a sure way to beat the winter cold and liven up the atmosphere in the home during seasonal holidays. Many times we'll see in ads people sipping on a favourite cup of tea or a mug of their favourite java, all while sitting next to a comfortable fire place during the holiday season. Many people don't have homes with fireplaces though, but adding one is a possibility.

When considering what kind of of fireplace you'd like to have, it usually comes down to two options, gas or wood. You'll find there are a certain group of people that adore wood for various reasons, one of those reasons being because they can give off a great aroma in the room. These days though, the gas fireplace has become the more practical route because not only is gas fairly inexpensive and readily available (meaning you don't have to go out and purchase it as you do wood), but it too can even burn wood should a person ever want to have that natural wood scent in their home. In fact, gas fireplaces are more popular today than the wood fireplace has ever been, and though there are pros and cons to both, the gas fireplace surely has the ability to create the same great environment of homely warmth as the wood fireplaces, but with a bit less maintenance. That's one of the reasons people typically choose gas fireplaces these days. They're usually just much more favourable in today's world where we try to minimize the amount of work we have to invest in our homes in such tasks as cleaning up ashes and debris.

Gas fireplace cost only coins per hour to use and if installed properly, they will heat a room very quickly. You'll find that there are various styles, some requiring venting and flue inspection hatches and some none at all. That brings us to the matter of flue inspection hatches though. No matter the type of fireplace you decide to install, you'll need to have your chimney inspected eventually and chimney cleaning is an absolute necessity because doing so will help prevent the chance of chimney fires starting.

As homes get older the materials they're built with begin to decay and depending on the use of the fireplace, the fires themselves that you use to warm your home with will also even help contribute to the eventual declining state of the fireplace. To help eradicate this problem and make cleaning your chimney all the cleaner, you'll need to have a one of the various high quality flue inspection hatches available to install in your chimney and there are some great ones available that include high quality standard, 1-hour fire ratings that have been tested to according to B.S.476: Part 22:1987 standards. Such flue inspection hatches will provide access into various types of areas in addition to even fireplaces such as concealed ceiling and wall gas flue voids where a fire rating is required. They're built with foam draft seals and a 12.5mm fireline plasterboard that has a 30dB reduction rating. They also have a steel frame that's made with 1.2mm zintec and a door that has a satin polyester powder coated finish. The door frames are available in a 25mm and 50mm deep access panel model and they make for terrific fireplace flue inspection panels.
