#1 We don't like everything we create Don't ask why, it's just the way we're wired.
At times I would complete a project and then a year later, I would end up hating it.
As designers our styles evolve and get better over time (hopefully) so we all tend to dislike some of our earlier work.
#2 We hate collaborative projects (well, some of us) Designers tend to work alone and we like it that way.
It's not that we're anti-social but we've perfected the way in which we problem solve and execute our projects.
#3 At some point in our careers we've second guessed ourselves Questions like: Is this the right path for me? Is my work any good? My work isn't any good as (insert awesome designer here).
We're human, it happens.
#4 We hate being asked to do personal favors For all you clients out there: NO we will not take your child to daycare, NO we will not babysit your dogs.
NO we will not feed your goldfish.
You may think that this is a bit far fetch but it does happen.
I'm a designer, not your best friend.
#5 All designers are not the same What one designer may do for you, don't assume that another will do the same.
Don't tell us how much another designer charges and think you'll get the same price.
It won't happen.
EVER.
#6 We're our worst critic You may think that you're being mean when you tell us something that you don't like about a design.
Remember, that what you say is nowhere near close to how we criticize our own work, so don't hesitate to give honest feedback.
Your designer will thank you for it.
#7 We do have a life Please take into consideration that we do have a life outside of design.
Some of us are parents, students and even have full-time jobs.
If you're a client who understands when we say that we need a extra day or to work a design.
We will in return go above and beyond to give you the best possible outcome for your project.
We might even throw in something for free.
#8 We love to giveaway freebies If you're a return customer, we will more than likely give you free stuff.
This shows our appreciation for being a constant customer.
Also, not to mention this strengthens our relationship of designer and client.
