Build it yourself instead of hiring a contractor.

Not only is this good for the environment, but it will make your DIY project easy on the pocketbook.
Reclaimed materials can be many different items.
Some examples include: wood, windows, doors, footers, trim, shelving, etc.
Be creative.
You'll be glad you did.
Remember a can of paint can make anything look brand new.

Keep the Size of your shed smaller.
You will use less material and leave more dollars in your pocketbook.

If our shed is small enough it can be built on an existing patio.
This is a very cost effective foundation.

Think reclaimed materials when you get ready to put up the siding.
Is there a falling down building slated for demolition.
Often times you can obtain these types of materials for little or no cost.

If you're using wood shingles or metal for your roofing material, you can easily find reclaimed material for your project.

If you're adding trim, window boxes or shelves.
Look around for bits and pieces you have laying around.
Use up those odds and ends.
Don't forget about left over wood or smaller pieces cut from the larger boards elsewhere in the building phase.
