I've always been a fan of delicate looking jewelry. I know that a recent trend has been for chunky watches & bracelets, but it has been my intention to get my partner a Skagen Titanium Watch for some time now as he loves their slim, elegant designs as much as I do.
The Skagen brand has become an international business. Founded in 1989 when Danish couple Charlotte & Henrik Jorst followed a dream to build their own company in the US, today they have stores around the globe, including Europe & Asia.
As well as being known for their slim line watch collection, Skagen are popular for their clean, unique & affordable designs.
Titanium is famous for it's hypoallergenic properties. This is one of the reasons Skagen Titanium Watches are a popular choice with people with sensitive skins. Titanium, a chemical element, is strong with a low density. This makes it lightweight as well as being resistant to corrosion such as chlorine & sea water. These factors make them favourable in the world of sport because they are less affected by sweat & are very durable.
When I am choosing a gift I like to do my research & be sure that I am getting a quality item that suits the person I am buying it for.
You will be able find a Skagen Titanium Watch in a variety of colours & with a choice of different bands.
Here are a couple of reviews of watches I have looked at
The 809XLTTM Carbon Fiber Dial Multifunctional Titanium Watch sports a slim 25mm band & the face is just 9mm thick. Combined with the fact that titanium is such a lightweight substance it is very comfortable to wear. The grey mesh on the band adds a touch of uniqueness. The case is a little larger than some other designs at 40mm but that seems to add to the laid back design & is complemented by the dark grey dial.
A contrast is the men's 809XLTRB has an attractive rose gold plated case, black carbon fiber dial & a black titanium band.
The round dial has a case that is 40mm in diameter & is 9mm thick. The cover on the dial, also known as the watch crystal is made from super hard mineral, making it more scratch resistant. The indicators are of the index kind & it's water resistant to 3ATM, or if you prefer 100ft.
This watch is not a chronograph but it does have three sub dials that display the day, date & 24 hours, it just doesn't have a stop watch. They are relatively small, therefore if your eyesight is not what it used to be it may take a little getting used to, but once you know which dial does what it shouldn't be an issue. Most people find it's of little concern & that the overall stylish appearance more than compensates.
With regards to the strap, it is styled from titanium mesh, is 25mm at its widest point & tapers to 20mm, the mesh adds a touch of uniqueness.
As you will be aware the world of retail never stands still. The Skagen team are always following current trends, keeping fingers on the pulse by regularly visiting the world's centres of design. This enables them to put their own interpretation on trends & to be innovative with new designs & be amongst the leaders not followers.
