Guide Review - Take Two London Voucher Book
It's as simple as you would hope: pay for one adult, fill in the back of a voucher and use it to pay for a second adult.
The book is a handy pocket-size and is rather like a super-extended version of the free booklets you might find in a tourist hotel reception or Tourist Information Centre. There is a charge for the book but if you plan your trip well you could easily make so many savings the initial pay out will be forgotten, although I do think the "Guaranteed to save you £1,100" might be a misleading banner on their website.
The vouchers in the book are valid for six months - March to August and September to February - which might be a problem if you are visiting in August and September but should work well for most visitors. I like the fact the vouchers are valid so long as it makes the book appealing to Londoners too who can save money when they've got visitors in town, during the school holidays, etc.
And the fact the book isn't registered to one user means you can share the vouchers with your friends and family.
The 'Rules of Use' are in multiple languages so it should be clear to all how to use the book: choose an offer, fill in the back of the form, hand in when you arrive. And that's another good point; most of the offers do not require you to book in advance so you can be spontaneous which makes sense for visitors to London who want to try everything!
I like the day planners, obviously linking the ideas in the book, but they've created some interesting days out with plenty of eating options too. The Index by nearest Tube station is especially useful for dining deals and for spontaneity. And the book even includes details of events happening while the book is valid and popular places that have free admission.
- The offers are divided into:
- Attractions
- Museums and Galleries
- Tours, Cruises & Walks
- Theatre, Leisure & Souvenirs
- Eat, Drink and Dance
- Afternoon teas
The tours include walks, boat rides, bike tours and even backstage tours. Plus there are a couple of theatre offers too.
