Have you ever went inside your room and felt exhausted and disappointed with the clutter everywhere? Clutter clearing can be a daunting task.
It can take you all day depending of the amount and volume of the clutter in your home or in your room.
But like they say, a journey begins with a single step.
First thing you should do is to grab a garbage bag.
Clean out everything that is on the floor and put them inside the bag.
May it be paper plates, soda cans, paper, everything! Most of us has probably seen these TV shows about cleaning up and organizing a particular space and most of them start off by clearing everything that is lying around the floor.
Sort things out by having different containers for items you use often, things you don't need, and those for storage.
Label each container and toss everything respectively.
You can then sort the things you don't need bin either for recycling, those you can give away or donate to charity and those that are to be tossed in the garbage bag.
Wipe clean the surface of your space with a damp cloth or a polisher for wood if you have wooden surfaces.
Having a wet, damp cloth will prevent dust from flying around your room and irritate your nose and eyes.
Wash your cloth in between to clean out the dust you have accumulated during your clean up.
Arrange and put things back to where they should be.
Arrange them according to use, how frequent you use them and according to your aesthetic preferences.
Just make sure to wipe them first before putting them back again to their shelves or drawer.
Vacuum your floors thoroughly.
Do not miss the place that people often miss during clean up like under the bed, sofa or a cabinet.
These places accumulate dust over time because it is undisturbed.
Vacuum as well your upholstery and your window sill.
Open your windows for at least an hour to let the air in and ventilate your place.
You can also light a scented candle to give your room a clean fresh scent or you can use an aerosol antiseptic spray to kill the microbes in the air.
Leave the room for at least thirty minutes together with your pets as these antiseptic aerosol sprays can be harmful to them.
Empty your trash accordingly.
Make it a habit to throw your garbage everyday to prevent them from piling up inviting rats and cockroaches to feast on them.
Garbage like waste food and other edibles are very inviting to these pests.
Remember that pests only linger in one place where they can find a steady supply of food.
You can also run the vacuum after you eat or you can sweep the floor to remove bits and pieces of food that fell out when you were eating.
After doing the above steps, take a long relaxing bath and enjoy your clean and tidy room.
There's nothing like a clean room to keep you relaxed and at peace.
Have you ever noticed that a cluttered room also makes a mess with the way you think and feel? Sit back and admire your work.
