  Once the capital of The Netherlands and located about 35 miles south of Amsterdam, The Hague is still a stately city with grandiose mansions and embassies, parks, museums and restaurants. Not as famous as Amsterdam for nightlife, there are still some hot spots in the city. Nearby the city is the seaside town of Scheveningen, with beaches and water activities. There are some cheap hotels located in or within a few miles of the city center.
  
  

Hotel La Ville

• The hotel La Ville, in the city center and facing the garden of the Noordeinde Palace, is only three subway stops from the beach area of Scheveningen. Rooms offer private bathrooms, cable TV and WiFi. Most apartments and suites also offer separate sleeping areas, kitchenettes and fireplaces. • The City Hotel, 100 yards from the beach in Scheveningen and close to the subway, is 2.5 miles from The Hague's city center. Rooms accommodate one to four people, are equipped with private bathrooms, TV, WiFi and phones. Some basic rooms do not have a bathroom. Rooms in the back have balconies. Children under 12 stay for free. Pets are not allowed. Check-in time is after 1 p.m. and checkout is before 11 a.m. If you arrive after 6 p.m., notify reception beforehand.
