Unique to the Renaissance Aruba Resort is Renaissance Island, a private island open only to guests of the resort. A ferry shuttles you back and forth to the island, leaving every 15 minutes.
Renaissance Island is divided into two parts. Iguana Beach is family oriented, and you'll see how it got the name as soon as you arrive. Iguanas are everywhere in Aruba - I counted over a dozen just on the walk to the ferry.
Here, they have daily scheduled feedings. You can see them gathering at the same spot, wolfing down lettuce.
On the other side of Renaissance Island is Flamingo Beach, and again, you'll see how it got the name. Flamingo Beach is for adults. It's quieter, and European (read: topless) sunbathing is permitted.
Activities offered on Renaissance Island include complimentary lounges and towels, tennis, and a fitness room. Red Sail Sports on the island can arrange snorkeling, scuba, fishing and sailing.
