- 1). Wash your hands before handling your contacts. You don't want to take the chance of getting dirt on your contacts or germs in your eyes.
- 2). Take out your right contact lens first. Obrig Contact Lenses recommends you always start with the same eye so that you never get your contacts mixed up.
- 3). Place the lens in the palm of your hand to make sure it isn't inside out. Look at the rim of the lens. If the lens rim is round and not sharp looking, you have your contacts the right way. If the lens is inside out, the rim will appear sharp.
- 4). Squirt a little saline on your contact lens to rinse it off. Then set the lens on your pointer finger.
- 5). Draw your bottom eyelid down with your middle finger. If you blink easily then hold the top eyelid open with your free hand.
- 6). Look up and place the contact directly on the eye. Once it is in place, let go of your eyelids. Look toward your nose. This will send the contact directly over your cornea.
- 7). Wash your hands again and repeat the steps to get the contact for your left eye in.
