  Hotels on Congress Street in Portland, Maine offer visitors the chance to visit multiple landmarks, museums and the Gulf of Maine Aquarium. While there are only a couple of hotels actually on Congress Street, there are other accommodations on the numerous side streets that surround Congress Square. These hotels give guests the chance to choose from three-star hotels to local inns, accommodations in styles from Victorian to contemporary and accommodations that fit their budgets.
  
  

Clarion Hotel

• The Clarion Hotel in Portland is located three miles from the airport and close to the University of Southern Maine. It is also within sight of the Amtrak station, but visitors are offered a free shuttle rather than walking. The former Doubletree property is now listed as an award-winning three-star property, and offers an indoor pool, spa tub and fitness facility. There are meeting rooms, business services and audio-visual equipment. There is also a restaurant and lounge. The multi-lingual staff assist guests during their time at the 149-room, non-smoking hotel. It is located about two miles from town center, but the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to area restaurants, bars and attractions. Rates as of October 2010 ranged from $99 to $139 a night.

Eastland Park Hotel

• Eastland Park Hotel is just around the corner from Congress Street on High Street. It is adjacent to Congress Square and offers Top of the East, which is Portland's only rooftop lounge, Harmon's and Barton's Flowers and Massage Medicine on-site. Nearby is the Shipyard Brewing Company, Gulf and Maine Aquarium and the Children's Museum of Maine. Just a few blocks away is the Old Port where several shops are available. The Inn at St. John

• The Inn at St. John is a Victorian Inn near the west end of downtown Portland. Guests can choose from 39 distinctive rooms and enjoy a continental breakfast each morning including muffins, bagels, pastries and cereals. There is no elevator in the inn where guests can choose from luxury, traditional and value accommodations. Those who choose value accommodations to suit their budget will have a bathroom across the hallway that is either private or shared with one other room. Traditional accommodations offer a private in-room bath and fluffy bedding. With luxury rooms, guests will enjoy jetted bathtubs, exposed brick walls and flat panel televisions. The non-smoking residence offers outdoor smoking areas. Guests are offered a transportation shuttle to and from the airport as well as Portland Transportation Center.
