7 Signs That the Emotional and Sexual Intimacy is Gone From Your Marriage

It's common and after a few years together the physical and emotional intimacy between a husband and wife will drop off in frequency.
Partners get buffeted by all the different day-to-day things that put a strain on a marriage.
These days it's easy enough to see how outside influences like the economy can have an impact on our most intimate relationships.
If you're like me and you've witnessed close friends and family relations suffer through unemployment you know that it's going to take a toll on the marriage.
Without intending to we get caught up in the stressors that we are dealing with.
We might even have different and conflicting approaches to the same problems.
Sadly this leads us to grow apart over time.
Feelings of attraction get pushed aside by boredom, anxiety about the future, and feeling burdened by responsibilities.
Instead of the marriage relationship becoming a source of strength and a refuge from day-to-day struggles it becomes yet another burden, especially as the sexual relationship becomes less frequent, less spontaneous, and less exciting.
At that point sex becomes another chore instead of a place we share intimacy and passion.
Here are 7 signs that emotional and sexual intimacy is seriously breaking down in a marriage.
1.
The physical desire for each other has broken down.
Sexual interest is pushed aside and instead you feel disconnected and indifferent.
2.
No one is listening to anyone anymore.
You feel like you could be talking to the wall for all the response you get from your spouse.
3.
You resent your burdens and feel like your partner has it easier.
This leaves you feeling under appreciated.
4.
You no longer go to outside events together or else you go there separately.
5.
When you can avoid being with each other you do.
When you do go places together there doesn't seem to be anything to talk about anymore or else it's the same rehashed topics time and again.
6.
There are no longer any simple outward expressions of affection, maybe a brief peck on the cheek, but no passionate kissing or hugging.
7.
You feel anxious and depressed when you're with your spouse and you can't seem to speak to each other in a civil tone without some kind of animosity underlying the conversation.
When you are together you have an urge to push aside things that might be troubling you for fear of "causing a scene.
" These are just several symptoms of a breakdown in emotional and physical intimacy in a marriage.
The end result is unhappiness, anger, and thoughts of escape.
It's maybe hard to believe but it's still not too late to repair your relationship if both of you feel love for each other down deep.
