- 1). Slow down regardless of whether a blinking warning light is flashing when pulling up in your car or by foot toward a set of train tracks. The light might be out, so it is better to be aware as you are crossing.
- 2). Stop if you are at the tracks and see flashing lights or signs of a train coming. Even if you are in a hurry, do not rush.
- 3). Wait for the train to pass.
- 4). Listen for additional trains or cars once it appears the train has passed. Wait for the warning lights to turn off, and after about 30 seconds make your way over the tracks.
