- 1). Remove the vandal-resistant cap from the Bak-Chek valve sleeve. Insert the tip of a slot screwdriver under the edge of the cap and work it around the cap, prying the cap away from the Bak-Chek valve sleeve until it pops off.
- 2). Rotate the control-stop screw underneath the cap counterclockwise with a screwdriver to open the control valve completely. Test the flushing action to see if it is sufficient.
- 3). Turn the control valve all the way clockwise to close the valve completely if the flush volume is still inadequate.
- 4). Remove the large diaphragm cover on the top of the unit with a pipe wrench or slip-joint pliers.
- 5). Remove the relief valve that is installed in the center of the diaphragm by lifting it completely out.
- 6). Reinstall the diaphragm cover, open the control valve all the way and test the flushing action to see if it is sufficient.
- 7). Turn the control valve clockwise all the way to close the valve completely if the flush volume is still inadequate.
- 8). Remove the large diaphragm cover on the top of the unit with a pipe wrench or slip-joint pliers.
- 9). Lift the diaphragm assembly out of the diaphragm bowl as a single unit.

Flip the refill head that is underneath the diaphragm in the diaphragm bowl to convert the Flushometer from a 3.5 gallon-per-flush unit to a 4.5 gallon-per-flush unit. - 11
Reinstall the diaphragm assembly into the diaphragm bowl. Reinstall the diaphragm cover, open the control valve all the way and test the flushing action.
